Graduated in December 2015, holding a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering at Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria (Department of Civil, Energy, Environmental and Materials Engineering, Italy). After graduation, I started working in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of the same University as Environmental Engineering Technician within the national project PON03PE_00090_02 on the “Investigations on anaerobic digestion of olive mill oil residues”. After this project, I was involved as Technician in the “Drafting of guidelines on the treatment and energy performance of lagoon plants schemes” (PICal srl, Spin-off Society of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, Italy).

Since June 2020, I have been working as Research Fellow under the Project BO-ASET “Biological Organic Anaerobic System for Energy Technology”, University of Urbino Carlo Bo, Department of Pure and Applied Science, Section of Chemistry, Environment, and Materials (Italy). The main objective of the research activity is the evaluation of the methane potential of selected urban wastes generated at local territory, specifically in the Marche Region (Adriatic Seaside, Italy). The focus of the project is the energetic treatment and valorisation by biological processes of several biomasses (such as the different residual organic fractions present in municipal waste) involved in the local waste management system.

In April 2021, I held the PhD in Agricultural, Food and Forestry Science (Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, Department of Agriculture, Italy), defending the doctoral dissertation “Innovative treatment systems of swine wastewater for energy valorisation and recovery of by-products”.

Results of these works have been discussed and published in international conference proceedings and scientific journals.

Field of interest: anaerobic digestion process; renewable energy production; land conservation; environmental monitoring and protection; waste and wastewater management.
