The University of Urbino "Carlo Bo", as a national partner of the University of Milan in the International Doctorate Programme in Sociology of Law "Renato Treves", is holding the course: "Social Research and Sociology of Law", which will take place in Urbino on May 2009.
The course has two main objectives. Firstly, as the title suggests, it will focus on the methodological aspects of research, considering both the epistemological issues in social research and specific techniques within qualitative and quantitative methods. Secondly, seminars will introduce students to some issues relevant to contemporary sociology and sociology of law. Each seminar includes both lectures and class-work.
The course intends to support students in the definition and articulation of the methodological aspects of their research projects. At the end of the course, a dedicated session will allow students to present their projects and to discuss with teachers issues concerning the methodology and the research design of their work.
