The University Language Centre (C.L.A.) is responsible for spreading knowledge of the modern languages taught in the University, also for external learners. The Centre itself deals with the teaching of foreign languages, supports and coordinates teaching given in the various Departments, promotes and develops theoretic and applied research activities, and handles the production of the University language services. All the courses are taught by mother-tongue teachers with proven experience, who use the C.L.A. language laboratories, multimedia classrooms and interactive systems in their teaching.
Those enrolled on courses may integrate their study program with individual practice using original hardware and software produced by the University Language Centre (C.L.A.) of the University of Urbino.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE
The C.L.A. is an examination centre for the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) and, more precisely, for the following:
- P.E.T. (Preliminary English Test)
- F.C.E. (First Certificate in English)
- C.A.E. (Certificate in Advanced English)
- C.P.E. (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- B.E.C. (Business English Certificates) Preliminary, Vantage, Higher
ITALIAN LANGUAGE
The C.L.A. is also a centre for CILS - Certificate of Italian as Foreign Language examinations.
The CILS certificate (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels) is useful, in particular from level B2 upwards, for the world of work, for teaching Italian and for enrolment in Italian universities. The University Language Centre activates levels A2, B1, B2 and C1.
MODERN GREEK, FRENCH, GERMAN AND SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSES
The University Language Centre of the University of Urbino also organises courses in the following foreign languages:

- Spanish
Lessons are held by native speaker lecturers specialized in teaching language to foreigners. Certificates of attendance are awarded at the end of the courses.

CHINESE LANGUAGE
Aula Confucio
Chinese language and culture courses of various areas and levels, specialised Chinese courses, Chinese for children, artistic-cultural courses, seminars and conferences, film showing and events to promote Chinese culture are all offered in the Aula Confucio, The courses and initiatives are not just open to the university public, but to anyone who is interested in Chinese culture. The initiatives involve Urbino University, students and all the local and surrounding community; they are an opportunity to expand the town’s cultural offers and help the public to learn about Chinese culture, in an area where both the student community and Chinese community are increasing. The Aula Confucio offers specialised sources for private students made up of professionals and companies interested in aspects of Business Chinese language.
Lessons are held by a Chinese lecturer certified by the Hanban Institute and by an Italian lecturer certified by the Aula Confucio in Urbino.
Certificates of attendance are awarded at the end of each course. This certificate, officially recognised in China and Italy, is not equivalent to the certification achieved by taking the HSK exam.
