Learning Objectives

The course aims to train students on the effective use of the AIDA database. Numerous pieces of information are available for each company in the Aida database: company name, current and previous name, address of the registered office and the operational headquarters, telephone number, web address, and the number of employees; financial statements in historical series up to 10 years; a detailed description of the business sector and national product classification and correspondence with international reference codes (ATECO) (e.g., NACE); auditors and statutory auditors, prominent representatives of the Board of Directors and members of the Board of Management; shareholder structure, shareholdings (up to 10th level) and beneficial owner; legal form, year of incorporation of the company and status; innovative start-ups. Thanks to its advanced software, Aida allows you to conduct searches by crossing hundreds of criteria, such as company name, tax code, geographical area, number of employees, balance sheet items, economic-financial indicators, status, legal form, and customized indicators. All criteria can be combined (through Boolean searches) so that you can quickly identify the set of companies of your interest (bvdinfo.com - Bureau Van Dijk).

The software allows you to compare a single company with a group of similar companies; create and customize indicators, calculate sector averages, modify the data display, customize lists and export everything in multiple formats (including Excel); carry out market research and benchmarking analyzes; identify a set of companies, compare them with each other and create an aggregate sector balance sheet; analyze the organization chart and corporate structure of companies; identify the national and global shareholder of reference (bvdinfo.com - Bureau Van Dijk).
