Learning Objectives

Following the approval by the Chamber of Deputies of the proposed law for the experimental introduction of non-cognitive skills, Cisdel aims to offer students of our University the opportunity to reflect on the potential that the acquisition of life skills can offer in terms of impact on effective, inclusive and appropriate learning to the challenges of today’s world. Today, more than ever, the University, like the School, can represent an ideal environment for teaching life skills, impacting and relaunching, even in these years of pandemic, a key role in promoting the processes of socialization.

Specifically, the course aims to provide students the opportunity to develop different transversal skills typical of the professions they will undertake: leadership, teamwork, decision-making, Problem-Solving, Effective Communication, and Critical Thinking.

Course objectives

The course aims to improve participants’ ability to:

  • Working in a professional context, helping to create a collaborative climate in relation to different and specific professional contexts;
  • Use methodologies and tools that can foster teamwork, critical thinking, leadership, etc;
  • Understand the different professional situations, understanding their specificities;
  • Listen, and understand colleagues and interlocutors;
  • Enhance the participation and contributions of the different subjects of the team;
  • Modulate a communicative/behavioral style consequent to the reading of the context and of the subjects with which the work is shared;
  • Mediate and solve any possible conflicts;
  • Knowing how to make decisions;
  • Know how to communicate effectively;

In view of the objectives mentioned above, the course will investigate both on the theoretical level and in terms of methodological and operational dimensions the psychological, relational, organizational, and design aspects of leadership, team working, decision-making, problem-solving, effective communication, and the development of critical thinking.
