Learning Objectives
Themes
The main objective of the course is to improve presentation skills in students. In particular, the course is aimed at developing techniques and modalities for students to refine the ability to explain themes, concepts and arguments in the best way, through the instrument of oral storytelling.
The topic of communication characterizes the world of training, education, media and, in general, anything related to interpersonal relationships, with the stated goal of making all forms of communication increasingly effective.
But what happens when it comes to the "last mile"? What to do when it is necessary to convey directly, in the physical presence of potential recipients, the content of what you want to communicate?
Through several practical exercises, the course will provide the tools that will enable future speakers to consider themselves "well-equipped" when it comes to choosing the most appropriate delivery style for the content they need to narrate.
The course is developed in 6 meetings/lessons of 2 hours each, during which they will first analyze and then apply, ideas, tools and techniques of oral storytelling.
Each meeting/lesson is structured as a short presentation performance; there will be room for interventions and practical exercises.
The topics (in brief) that the course will explore are:
- the basic need to communicate
- the forms of communication
- the elements of oral communication
- what is meant by "effective storytelling"
- why we narrate
- why the most effective form of communication is storytelling
- storytelling is a language
- static quality and dynamic quality
- when you are on the audience's side (learning by assimilation)
- techniques to adopt and mistakes to avoid
