This page constitutes a section of the Privacy Policy on the University Portal and specifically describes the use of cookies by the Data Controller.
Information about Cookies
Cookies are information entered into the browser when you visit a website or use a social network with a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Each cookie contains various data such as, for example, the name of the server from which it originates, a numerical identifier, etc.
Cookies can remain in the system for the duration of a session (i.e., until the browser used for web navigation is closed) or for long periods and can contain a unique identification code.
For more information on cookies, please refer to the website of the Data Protection Authority.
Consent Activation and Deactivation
Cookies Used by the Portal
Technical Cookies
The technical cookies used can be divided into the following subcategories
- session: destroyed each time the browser is closed
- persistent: once the browser is closed, they are not destroyed but remain until a preset expiration date
These cookies are necessary to properly display the Portal and in relation to the technical services offered, they will therefore always be used and sent unless the user changes the settings in their browser (thus affecting the display of web pages).
Analytical Cookies
Analytical cookies are used to collect information, in aggregate and anonymous form, on the number of users and how they visit the Portal.
The Portal collects statistical data on visits through the Web Analytics Italia platform. More information is available in the Web Analytics Italia privacy policy.
Third-Party Profiling Cookies
These are cookies used to monitor and profile users while browsing, study their movements and web consultation or consumption habits (what they buy, what they read, etc.), also to send targeted and personalized advertising services (so-called Behavioral Advertising). During navigation, profiling cookies may be installed on the Portal.
Third-Party Websites and Services
The University Portal may contain links to other websites that have their own privacy policy, which may be different from the one adopted here, and therefore we are not responsible for these sites.
How to Manage and Disable Cookies
Through the Portal
The Portal provides two tools that allow the user to give or deny consent to the use of third-party cookies (both analytical and profiling).
The first tool is the information banner that appears at the bottom of the web page when visiting the Portal for the first time or after a year since the last visit.
The banner has two buttons, labeled "I Accept" and "I Do Not Accept," which allow you to give or refuse consent to the use of third-party cookies.
By accepting or denying consent, the banner will no longer be displayed.
The second tool is the consent activation/deactivation button, located at the beginning of this page. By selecting it, you switch from one mode to another, respectively giving and denying consent.
The button is always available and allows the user to change the consent setting at any time.
Until the user explicitly provides their consent or denial through one of the two tools, consent is considered not expressed.
If consent is denied or not expressed, the Portal will not store any third-party cookies and will not display any third-party content that may be present. In particular, instead of the latter, a notice, a button to view the hidden content by accepting the use of third-party cookies, and a button to open the content in a new window will be displayed.
Through Browser Configuration
The user can always choose to enable or disable cookies by adjusting their browser settings according to the instructions provided by the respective providers at the links below:
If the browser used is not among those proposed, select the "Help" function on your browser for information on how to proceed.
Through browser preferences, it is also possible to delete cookies installed in the past, including the one in which the consent to the installation of cookies by the Portal may be saved. It is reminded that disabling technical cookies may compromise the functioning of the Portal.
Data Subject's Rights
You can exercise your right to object to the use of cookies by leaving this Portal and thus also refusing the use of essential technical cookies necessary for its operation. In addition, it is always possible to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, which can be contacted at garante@gpdp.it or through the website http://www.gpdp.it
Changes to this Policy
This policy may be subject to changes. Therefore, we recommend regularly checking this policy and referring to the most up-to-date version.
