Learning Objectives

The primary objectives of this teaching course are to help students make better links between physical activity and pharmacology; improve their knowledge of drugs used to treat (and or to prevent) maladies, disorders and traumas where adapted physical activity is included in therapeutic, rehab and preventive programs. 

Program

General pharmacology. Drugs acting on autonomic nervous system. Commonly prescribed drugs in Sport medicine. NSAIDs, glucocorticoids. Analgesics. Drugs used in orthopedic medicine. Antiosteoporotic agents. DMARDS and agents for rheumatoid arthritis. Myorelaxants and antispastic drugs.  Hypolipidemic drugs. Drugs affecting coagulation.  Anti-obesity drugs. Hypoglicaemic agents. Antihypertensive drugs.

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
