Learning Objectives
The course will address the problem of the relationship between religion and science from a philosophical perspective. After a first part concerning the nature of this problem from a historical, cultural and epistemological point of view, the course will focus on its main topics, illustrating and discussing them critically.
Program
1) Religion and science, naturalism and theism;
2) Rationality, faith, science.
3) The origins of the universe and life.
4) Theory of evolution and religious faith.
5) Miracles and natural laws.
6) Human person and the meaning of life in a naturalistic worldview and in a theistic one.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Students must demonstrate: Awareness of the problems created by the problem of the relationship between religion and science in contemporary age; Ability to interpret the complexity of the religious phenomenon; Ability to understand the theoretical reasons that underlie a religious worldview and the possibility of a productive dialogue among religion, culture and science.
