Learning Objectives

Provide the conceptual and methodological tools to understand and analyze the overall network of social services by analyzing the regulatory contexts in comparative perspective nationally and regionally. Particular attention will be given to the analysis of the network of services and policies in the Marche region.

Program

The course is divided into the following parts 1. Success and crisis of the welfare state: the transformation of social policies 2. The history of personal services 3. The integrated system of interventions and social services and the role of the third sector 4. services for the elderly 5. services for children, adolescents and families 6. the network of services for people with disabilities 7. the network of services to combat poverty and exclusion. 8. The social welfare policies in Italy: original and new gaps in comparative perspective nationally and regionally. Particular attention will be given to the analysis of the network of services and policies in the Marche region.

Knowledge of the main regulatory frameworks of policy and social services in Italy. skils in analsying social services networks. 

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Seminars.

Students will assist the teacher in research activities in the field of social policies.

Lectures, discussion in small groups on the material provided, analysis of the documents relating to the covered topics.

Participation in at least three quarters of the lessons. Individual study of the texts indicated

The assessment is carried out individually by a written test.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
