Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide students with the knowledge necessary to understand the fundamentals of the subject, in its individual and collective aspects, as well as to address its main application issues.

Program

a) Trade union law
Introduction - The sources of labor law - Freedom of association - Trade union organization - Representation and trade union representation - Trade union activities in the workplace - bargaining and the collective agreement.

b) The right of the individual employment
The employment contract - The flexible contracts - The labor market and social safety nets - The obligations of the worker, the powers and duties of the employer - The subjective changes of employment - The individual and collective dismissals.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

At the end of the training, students will have the necessary tools to understand the rules governing the labor relations, in their individual and collective aspects. We expect, in particular, that they are able to possess an overview of the discipline working trusts, as well as an understanding of the main issues addressed.

By reviewing the sources it is recommended the use of a Labour Code updated (recommended the latest edition available Giuffre, Milan) or access to www.normattiva.it.

For students attending any further guidance and readings will be provided by the teacher during the lessons.

Assessment

Notwithstanding the right of every student, and not attending, to sit the final exam with an oral discussion concerning the issues addressed in both reference texts mentioned above, only students attending assiduously reserved the right to split the 'examination itself and its discussion into two parts: the first, written on the Right to Organise (a); the second, oral, on the Right of the individual employment relationships (be b1)

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

Additional Information for Non-Attending Students

Assessment

The final exam consists of an oral discussion concerning the issues addressed in both reference texts mentioned above.
