Learning Objectives

The course aims to offering to the students the fundamental theoretical concepts of the methods of pedagogic research in relation to various educational contexts

Program

1. Basic course:  it will be dealt with the following arguments: research and didactic workshop: the historical and epistemological  foundations of the didactic workshop, learn-as-doing of apprenticeship, the enormous potential of educational research in workshop: from experimental research to action-research, and action-research in the workshop complexity (presentation of an experience of action-research).

2. Monographic course: the course analizes also:

a)    the observation as a tool of research and formation,

b)    selfmotivational processes underlying the dynamics of research and the active building of knowledge in the educational field, 

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

The student has to show to have gained from the course:

- mastery of knowledge of the specialized topics,

- comprehension of the advanced concepts of the discipline,

- ability to use knowledge and concepts to reason autonomously about the problems of the discipline.

Teaching

Teaching is conducted through lectures, alternated with moments of discussion with students about the topics presented in class.

The professor will give further bibliographic references during the lessons.

Assessment

The exam consists of a oral or written exam on all the topics covered in the texts. The examination aims to assess:- Organic knowledge of the subjects exposed in the texts and during the lessons;- Precise knowledge of the specific terminology used in the texts;- Ability to make connections among the topics covered by the texts and the reference material under study;- Ability to apply the acquired knowledge to observation in education contexts.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
