Learning Objectives

The course aims to teach the basic knowledge of the use of word processing and multimedia presentation software.

Program

Microsoft Word:

  • Text formatting: formatting of font, alignments of spacing. Use of styles and defining them.
  • insertion of images, shapes, graphs, tables, page breaks, text boxes, headers, footers and equations
  • definitions of page size and print margins.
  • automatic creation of table of contents and indexes of figures or tables (through captions). Insertion of footnotes. Management of bilbiography and citations.
  • management of revisions and comments.

Microsoft Powerpoint (in addition to formatting common to what is seen in Word):

  • use of themes
  • Transitions and animations
  • display modes

In addition, guidance is provided for the preparation of the thesis paper and its presentation.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

The student has to demonstrate:

- base knowledge of the software usage.

- an understanding of the basic concepts for organizing a text or presentation

- the ability to use knowledge and concepts to create technical texts and presentations

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
