Learning Objectives
The course aims to study Legal English, through the reading and listening of text/audio in their original language, alongside the study of the main morphosyntactic structures of English language in order to improve oral and written comprehension skills. It is required a B1 English Level according to the Common European Framework for foreign languages. At the end of the course students should be able to use major English grammatical structures, have a competent knowledge of English language and vocabulary used in specific legal contexts, read and listen specific materials and be able to analyse them in detail.
Program
The course aims to study Legal English, through the reading and listening of text/audio in their original language, alongside the study of the main morphosyntactic structures of English language: Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Past Continuous, Modal Verbs, Future tenses, Comparative, Superlative, Present Perfect, Present Perfect Continuous, Vocabulary. The course includes the reading, the analysis and the translation of passages in their original language.

It is required a B1 English Level according to the Common European Framework for foreign languages.

In-person course.
- Innovative teaching methods
Lessons may include a first cognitive activation on the topics with brainstorming activities in order to produce and concept new ideas. The face-to-face teaching method will also be enriched with individual and group exercises, which students will carry out by using the Mentimeter (https://www.mentimeter.com/) platform along with the University Moodle platform (blended.uniurb.it; https://elearning.uniurb.it/moodle/my/) by applying the didactic methodologies of the flipped lesson and / or cooperative learning.

It is required a B1 English Level according to the Common European Framework for foreign languages. In order to have access to the written qualifying examination students have to take an English qualifying examination at the University Language Centre (https://cla.uniurb.it).
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
