Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide the knowledge of the methods and direct the student to the use of techniques of relief and graphic representation, in order to analyze and represent synthetically the problems of a work of art useful for restoration and conservation.
The course also develops a series of applications with digital two-dimensional surveying tools.
Program
- TOPIC 1 (4 hours)
What it means to survey cultural heritage
- TOPIC 2 (2 hours)

- SUBJECT 5 (8 hours)
Digital surveying techniques in plane photogrammetry: straightening and presentation of the practised works
- TOPIC 6 (8 hours)
Digital survey techniques: laser scanning and photomodelling Theoretical outlines and application examples
- TOPIC 7 (4 hours)

DRAWING 1
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Ability to analyse and represent the structure of the work of art and to recognise the geometric conformation of the artefact, in relation to its location in space.
Ability to represent and model with digital tools artefacts in scale through different methods and techniques of graphic representation.
Ability to correctly identify and apply two-dimensional and three-dimensional representation techniques.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment
- Teaching
The course is divided into a series of frontal lessons concerning the framework of the discipline and application examples. In addition to the lessons, there will be two practical exercises to develop an awareness of the form, the degree of visual education, the learning of and the ability to translate through the graphic medium the representation of a cultural asset in the plane and space.
- Attendance
Recommended frequency of lessons.
The practical exercises are an integral part of the final preparation and must therefore be completed in all their parts (even for students who are not attending).
- Course books

- Assessment
The final examination consists of:
- an interview on the topics included in the syllabus with a question for each topic that will be graded in 30ths: for each question (18-22 for sufficient answers; 23-27 for discrete answers with some shortcomings in the ownership of the topic; 28-30 for good answers that demonstrate ownership of the topic and technical language)
- oral presentation of the graphical dossier, including the exercises carried out during the course. The paper must present graphic coherence and correct graphic language according to the conventions. It will be part of the final evaluation (evaluated in 30ths according to the criteria of completeness of the exercise, correct execution, correct presentation).
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
