This test consists of a written examination with 30 multiple-choice questions on the main topics covered in the first part of the course, ranging from natural resources up to and including metallurgy (cf. Program information: points 1 to 8 inclusive)). The time available to complete the test is 30 minutes. To qualify, at least 18 out of 30 questions must be answered correctly. A student who achieves the minimum pass mark is exempt from this part of the syllabus in the final examination, where he/she is assessed with a specific test only on the second part of the syllabus, from the chemical industry to quality (cf. Program information: points 9 to 12 inclusive), using the methods already described for the mid-term examination.

For the student who does not participate or does not achieve a pass in the mid-term test, the final examination consists of a written exam with 30 multiple-choice questions on all the topics covered during the course. Here, too, the time to answer is 30 minutes, and the minimum pass mark is 18 correct answers out of 30.
