Learning Objectives
Themes
The course provides the participants with practical, methodological tools for addressing the various questions that law places on psychology, in particular the most frequent and essential ones: separation and custody of children, adoption, responsibility of adults and children, evaluation of psychic damage, abuse and ill treatment of children. In addition to the legal framework of each subject, specific knowledge and skills will be given for psychological appraisal in both civil and criminal cases. A general reference framework will also be provided where the various operators involved can be positioned, with communication problems and legislative restrictions. The course is aimed at people who have faced these issues and want to further study the theoretical and methodological aspects and those who have no specific skill but who wish to acquire an elective capacity in legal psychology. The course will therefore train psychologists to work as legal consultants in the courts and legal experts to use an inter-disciplinary approach in their professional activity. Training will be given that is required by the criteria set by the National Order of Psychologists for admission to the list of court experts. A LISTENER’S MODULE will also be set up, where graduates (old system and level two) in medical subjects, education science, sociology and social services subjects, or other degrees that will be evaluated by the course director as to whether consistent with the goals of the course, can take part as listeners.
