The Masters aims to train professionals who, due to a solid technical preparation, can address challenges in the wine market both in Europe and internationally. The students are provided with inter-disciplinary, theoretical and practical tools required for wine production (vineyard - wine cellar) from healthy plants that produce territorial wines with personality, appreciated for the specific nature of their variety and healthiness, and the development of “ denomination” products and the management of marketing plans and strategies: from SMEs to large-scale distribution on the domestic (European) and international markets.
The professional skills acquired via the Masters requires inter-disciplinary training that starts with essentials of agronomy, biology and technology connected with grape growing and wine production investigating the entire wine production procedure.
This includes management of wine-making technologies in full observance of environmental protection and the safety of operators and wine consumers; optimisation of modern and traditional wine-making techniques; quality control throughout the production cycle (from raw material to intermediate product to finished wines); safety in the workplace and wine cellar hygiene; knowledge of regulations and legislation governing the production and sale of wines in Europe and worldwide (European law and WTO), together with HACCP techniques throughout the procedure and the concept of agricultural-food safety; recognition of market evolution to adapt production to consumer requirements; efficient information management and optimisation of wine products by using specific promotion and marketing initiatives; efficient use of a second official language of the European Union.
