"Archaeology of Architecture in Massa Trabaria: the territory of Mercatello sul Metauro" is a Summer School organized by the Department of Communication Sciences, Humanistic and International Studies of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo in collaboration with the municipality of Mercatello sul Metauro.

The Summer will last one week and is aimed at those who want to deepen the use of 2D / 3D technologies applied to the study of cultural heritage through surveys with photogrammetric drone technique (and subsequent processing of data acquired) and learn the method of study of medieval architecture.
The perspective is that of participatory archaeology, able to open to the general public and communicate in a plain, but scientific, the results of research so the Summer School also intends to contribute effectively to the promotion and development of cultural tourism reasoned and easily communicated and, therefore, was born in close synergy between the archaeological and sociological disciplines.

The sample context will be represented by the municipal territory of Mercatello sul Metauro, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, rich in medieval architectural evidence.

The container (the landscape) in which the contents (the architectures) are inserted will be approached from a diachronic point of view in a perspective that will allow to understand the circulation of the workers and of the same lithotypes used in the architectures, the styles etc.
