The participant has attended the course “Project Management as a methodology: principles, processes, skills”, whose main goal is to provide participants an introduction to principles and processes in the field of Project Management, with a specific focus on the main methodologies and tools and on the skills and competences to become a Project Manager.

Learning Objectives

The main goal of the course is to provide an introduction to principles, main concepts and processes in the area of Project Management. This could allow starting a professional path in this area, leading to key positions such as Project Manager. Project Management represents a managerial approach useful for undertaking complex projects in many settings (high technology, event management, European projects, bid management, communication projects). Project Management skills and competences area increasingly required by a companies and organisations – in the public and no-profit sectors - active in innovative and complex activities and searching for a right balance of objectives, timing and costs. 

The course content is inspired by the professional standards in the area of Project Management of the PMI - Project Management Institute, recognized at the international level and embodied in the PMBOK® Guide (Project Management Body of Knowledge). The course is organized in cooperation with PMI – Central Italy Chapter/Branch Marche, where various Project Managers (also with a degree from University of Urbino) working in Marche-based firms operate as volunteers. 

The course is structured in 4 seminars/meetings focused on the following themes: principles and areas of Project Management; main Project Management tools; Project Managers’ skills and competences; management of project-based firms and organisations.
