Geometrical methods of mathematical physics, Part II
Abstract dell'evento
In this series of lectures, we aim to uncover the underlying geometric structure of classical field theory. We will demonstrate that gauge theories share a common mathematical language, derived from differential topology, in which physical objects acquire a geometric interpretation. Gauge fields play a central role in this framework, represented as special differential 1-forms known as connections on a specific manifold called principal bundle. This approach enables us to ‘unify’ various physical theories, from Yang-Mills theory to gravity, within a unique framework.
