Learning Objectives

The course has the following objectives:

1. Provide theorethical tools for the analysis of the processes of reform of health policies in Italy and in Europe in historical comparative perspective.

2. Provide the knowledge on theoretical assumptions of interpretation within the theme of health inequalities and discrimination in an intersectional approach

3. Stimulate the skills to analyze and interpret data on the health of a population, on the discrimination and the impact these have on the health of the population.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

At the end of the course students who attend it will have acquired the following learning outcomes and competences: -theoretical knowledge  on health policies and the fight against inequality and discrimination in Italy and in Europe and understanding of the recent reorganization of the institutional and impact health conditions of the population. - Skills in analysising, designing and evaluating health policies and policy to contrast inequality and discrimination in an intersectional perspective in Italy. Ability to detect the main problems, limits and potential of current health policies. - Ability of independent judgment in developing assessments carried crosses adequate processes of evaluation research, and the definition of improvement strategies that are able to combine the best practices at national and international needs and local circumstances. - Communication skills for conducting business in the working groups. - Knowledge of educational tools for updating on the subject.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Supporting Activities

Students will have the opportunity to assist the teacher in research on issues related to the course.

Lectures will alternate with group activities and classroom discussions

Attendance

Participation in at least three quarters of the lessons. Individual study of the texts indicated.

Assessment

written exam

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
