Learning Objectives
Understand US cultural-historical identity
Find intersections between disciplines belonging to different areas (humanities and sciences)
Study the importance of Space and Mars in US cultural history
Approach "soundscape studies" and the "noir"
Program
During the course we shall study Anglo-American history, geography, and culture, focussing in particular on the importance of Space and Mars in imagination as well as in political programs. We shall specifically deal with such concepts as alienation and citizenship, and with such subjects as Cold War and Red Scare. Dr Morini will deliver some lectures on Space policy. Some lessons will be devoted to the emerging field of "Soundscape Studies". Attendance to SOUNDAY and URBINOIR is considered as part of the cvourse.

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
