The student will be introduced to a critical understanding of the concept of modernity and its political implications.

Knowledge and understanding
The student will have to show:
- To possess the basic theoretical knowledge of some of the main themes and the most debated issues of political philosophy and political debate;
- To possess the ability to read and understand correctly political philosophy monographs in their basic meanings. .
These skills are acquired by actively participating in educational activities (lectures, tutorials, seminars) and through personal study.
Possession of this knowledge is verified by the overcoming of the exam, which consists of an oral examination based on answers to questions of the professor and the reading and interpretation of excerpts from the texts indicated for the exam itself.
Applying knowledge and understanding
The student:
- Must be able to recognize the main philosophical implications of contemporary political debate;
- Should develop philosophical political basic arguments .
These skills are acquired by:
- actively participating in lectures,
- guided group discussions,
- personal study.

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

It is recommended the presence of at least 2/3 of the lessons.

Oral examination.
Students who attend at least 2/3 of the lessons can agree on a selection of chapters of the course book.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
