Learning Objectives

The course aims to introduce students to the systematic profiles of constitutional european  law with specific attention to the relationship between the European legal system and domestic law. Through a guided path on the main legal texts of the supranational integration (treaties, directives and regulations), students will gain the methodological tools to even frame the most recent European Union transformations. The course will focus, in particular, on the developments concerning the single market and the 'new' economic and monetary governance of the Union.

5) The effects of European integration on the italian constitutional legal system

6) The euro and the monetary policy

7) Stability and growth in the constitutional crisis

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

1) Knowledge and understanding: The student should gain a thorough understanding of the political and constitutional aims of the European integration process

2) Applying knowledge and understanding: The student should achieve a thorough understanding of particular EU institutions and policies concerning the single market and the economic governance.

3) Making judgements: The student should gain an understanding of the consequences of European policies on the national legal system.

4) Communication skills: The student should be able to speak in a debate in the classroom, supporting his arguments.

5) Learning skills: The student should be able to independently interpret the sources of law and European law.

Teaching

Frontal lessons. Seminars with particular reference to the political and constitutional aims of the european integration.

Attendance

Frequency to at least three quarters of the lessons. Knowledge and understanding of the Lisbon Treaty, the Fiscal Compact and the ESM Treaty.

Assessment

Oral test, because it's  more adequate to verify the knowledge of the subject.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
