Learning Objectives

The course will pursue two objectives: 1. create a linguistical and philological sensibility to literary texts; 2. practise literary translation from Russian to Italian with a professional approach. The course will be structured in two parts, a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical unit will be centred on text linguistics, and in particular on the elements that enable the cohesion of the text. Through textual analysis, the course aims to develop the abilities enabling students to differentiate various text types and recognise them correctly. The practical part will be made up of translation exercises, in which different recurrent difficulties of Russian to Italian translation will be broached.
