Learning Objectives
To acquire basic knowledge on the subject of:
1) Occupational Medicine, with particular reference to the illustration of the classical and most current topics
2) prevention in the workplace, with regard to regulatory, technical and health involved in the protection of the health and safety of workers
3) promoting health and safety of workers, looking at the globalized environment of living and working closely connected
4) overlapping and interfering exposures related to environment, living environment and working environment, which could affect the health and cause disorders and diseases

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
A) knowledge and understanding: the student will demonstrate that he has learned the theoretical acquisitions of technical and scientific nature that characterize the solid training of the consultant in the workplace. He will know how to translate it into solutions to address and resolve the most ordinary professional issues too. For this purpose, the training organization of the course is geared to translate the theoretical acquisitions in operational capabilities, offering case studies that the student will be expected to solve and discuss both individually and through group collaboration; B) applying knowledge and understanding: the student will demonstrate that he can transfer in an operational context from time to time simulated his knowledge; C) Making judgments: the student will demonstrate that he has developed and he is able to use his independent judgment maximizing interactions and opportunities for discussion with the teacher, having the ability to formulate and propose independent evaluations; D) communication skills: the student will develop communication skills in conveying clearly and effectively simple concepts and complex conclusions, demonstrating that communication skills are derived from the proper knowledge of the issues and problems with the report and from the habit to break down and reassemble complex issues in simple and consequential information elements; E) learning skills: the student will demonstrate that his ability to learn has grown and improved and he can combine a solid knowledge in an adequate know-how

- Assessment
The oral exam will be not only an element of assessment of learning the concepts and knowledge but also it will evaluate the acquisition of technical lexis in use among the experts. Moreover, it will be also the system of appreciation of the critical capacity, the autonomy of judgment and communication skills necessary in the performance of a consultant on prevention in the workplace
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

However there is no obligation to attend , it is recommended strongly participating in the lessons.
In the Department is active the 'Olympus Observatory for the permanent monitoring of legislation and case law on safety in the workplace'. It carries out various activities including, in particular: - the management of a website with legislative databases, case law and contractual requirements concerning safety in the workplace; - Depth articles, specialized reviews and "focus" theme; - The management of an online scientific journal - "The Working Papers of Olympus", shortly destined to mutate into "Diritto alla sicurezza sul lavoro" (DSL) - in the field of law of security in the workplace, with ISSN, which makes use of a large international scientific committee and refereeing procedures for the identification of essays to be published; - The organization of events congresses and seminars including international. This observatory, whose website is freely accessible to all in a logic of public service, allows students of the Study course to find useful materials and documentation to study and draft the dissertation. It offers, also, through the mentioned congresses meetings and seminars, the opportunity to meet with leading experts in the field and a full analysis of the most sensitive issues relating to it.
