Learning Objectives
The course aims at introducing the students’ most relevant social sciences for their educational and professional careers within the Sociology and Social Work Degree Program. The course will start introducing epistemological issues of Social Psychology, Anthropology, and Sociology, the growth of their own scientific paradigms, as well as a clear explanation of each own main research interests and empirical issues. After that, discussions will be lead over methodological approaches developed under each one’s scientific paradigm, and attention will be then focused on specific techniques of social research empirically ruled by Social Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology as well. Students will be asked to undertake and practice empirically techniques and methods according to defined research programs.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Students will acquire fully mastery and knowledge about the mail issues surrounding the growth of scientific status of Social Psychology, Anthropology, and Sociology; students will also acquire knowledge over methodological issues and applied social research programs; as well as understanding how to apply selected research techniques according to the overall research program.

Attendance to at least ¾ of the lessons (8 classes), active participation within the research activities, and the study of the course books

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
