Learning Objectives

The course focuses on the social psychology that, from the critical perspective of gender, studies masculinity and femininity changes.

It ill be analyzed, from the theoretical and empirical research produced in the field of gender studies, the ways in which gender structure symbolic and social processes that focus on the concept of identity between nature and culture.

Particular attention will be paid to the fluidity of gender identity and risks of differentialism.

Program

The course aims to deepen the following issues : gender as an analytical concept ; the construction of identity and the risks of differentialism ; the fluidity of identity and the narrative of subjectivity; the men 's studies.

The course aims to promote knowledge of some discipline key concepts .

It is also promoted the capability to identify connections with other disciplines (sociology , history , law , anthropology ) , to apply the knowledge learned in contexts of students' experience with particular reference to their future professional role.

Notes

Oral examination. If the number of enrolled students will be higher than 25, the exam will be written.

The course is organized in two parts. For 2016-2017, the lecturer of the first part is Isabella Quadrelli, the lecturer of the second part is Alessandra Vincenti. Social psychology and group I / II is an integrated course. The examination will take place with both teachers who express a separate evalution for the two parts of the course. The final evalution is calculated by averaging the two parts.
