Learning Objectives

The course provides the tools to guide the student to the understanding of the many political, economic, legal and social phenomena that characterize the European and international dimension. In particular The course will deepen the various European Union policies, with particular reference to sport, in the perspective of multilevel governance.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

  • Knowledge and understanding skills. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired an adequate knowledge and understanding of the system of competences and principles governing the relationship between EU law and policies and the corresponding internal policies. It should also include the scope of the judgments of the ECJ in the national and European sports system.
  • Knowledge and understanding skills applied. The student must demonstrate that knowledge is learned from concrete facts, through the study of documents relating to EU policies, the law and the case law of the Court.
  • Judgment autonomy. With reference to the subject matter of the course, the student must demonstrate that he / she is able to assume arguable and sustainable legal / political and sporting positions.
  • Communicative Skills. The student must demonstrate the ability to express the knowledge of the link between sports law and EU law, the main policies and the system of Union competences, with arguing consistency and language skills.
  • Ability to learn. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired the basic tools for updating and interaction of his / her knowledge in the subjects of the course, applying also in the national context the legal and jurisprudential framework referred to in the policies and the law of the European Union .

    The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

    Assessment

    Esame orale, in alternativa discussione di argomento e/o di una tesina di studio concordato/a con il docente.

    Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

    Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

    To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
