Learning Objectives
The aim of the course is the completion of the basic language skills, so that students can be independent in the understanding of written and spoken language and are able to process simple texts related to their social and working sphere. They will also understand the main messages of the mass media.
Program
Use of passive - quadriliteral verbs – mixed irregular verbs - appositions and intensifying names - verbs of praise and blame - verbs with double accusative - other complements: mu?laq e li-ajli-hi - the conditional sentences – Use of particles and names in the negative and adverbial meaning.
Bridging Courses
It requires students to have attended the course of Arabic Language II.
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
- Knowledge and understanding: during the third level course students acquire the basic tools that enable them to understand and process texts relating to their personal interests and plans. They can understand the main point of the articles and media broadcasts, when the delivery is relatively slow and clear.
- Applied knowledge and understanding: students will be able to apply independently the acquired knowledge being able to deal with most situations that may arise whilst traveling in areas where the Arabic language is used. They can read announcements and information of various kind and support conversations about familiar, personnel and work topics.
- Ability to discern: students will be ready to translate independently useful texts for their research, to improve their cultural and social skills and to develop their critical thinking.
- Communication skills: students will be able to briefly relate the plot of a movie they have seen or a book they’ve read; to describe their plans and briefly give reasons for their opinions.
- Learning skills: Students acquire the tools and guidelines for new approaches in resolving its own search path. May, in fact, understand, with the help of the dictionary, most of the texts in Arabic on various topical and research issues.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
