Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide information about the shape, the topography and the macro-microscopic structure of human organs, taking into consideration the functional aspects.

Introduction to the basic notion of human anatomy, anatomical position, the symmetry planes, the anatomical nomenclature, the dorsal and ventral cavity of the body, the meaning of hollow and full organ.

Program

An introduction on the structure and function of the cell.

Tissues.

Epithelial and gland tissue.

Connective tissue (body fat, cartilage tissue, bone tissue).

Blood and lymph. An introduction to the immune system.

Muscular tissue, skeletal muscle, heart muscle and smooth muscle.

Nervous tissue, neuron, synapses and microglia cells

Digestive apparatus: Mouth and pharynx, esophagus and stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver and pancreas, peritoneum

Respiratory apparatus, nose and larynx, trachea and bronchi, lungs, pleurae

Urogenital Apparatus kidneys, glomerular filtration, renal calyces, pelvis and ureters, urinary bladder and urethra.

Female genital apparatus and male genital apparatus.

Endocrine system  hypophysis, epiphysis, thyroid and parathyroid glands, pancreatic islets, suprarenal glands.

Cardiovascular apparatus general organization, small and big circles, heart, aorta and main branches, cave veins,  portal vein.

Lymphatic system,  lympho nodes structures and lymphoid organ such as spleen, thymus and MALT tissue.

Locomotive system. An introduction to different type of bones and joints.

Muscle system: muscle of the abdome , muscle of the thoracic cage, with particular attention to respiratory muscle.

Central nervous system: spinal cord , cerebellum, diencephalon, telencephalon

Peripheral nervous system: cranial and spinal nerves. Pyramidal and extrapyramidal system. Ways of general and specific sensitivity.
