Learning Objectives

The purpose of this course is to provide students with the basic concepts of syntactic analysis. In particular we will focus on the phenomena that characterize the acquisition of syntax in L1 and L2 , as well as on the issues related to code-switching in bilingual speakers.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

At the end of the course the student should be able to know the basic concepts of syntactic analysis and the fundamental issues related to the acquisition of syntax in L1 and L2 as well as bilingual acquisition.

S/he  should also be able to apply the theoretical knowledge attained to particular cases, such as assessing the level of development of syntax achieved by both native Italian children and foreigners who study Italian as L2, so that they can intervene with appropriate teaching activities .
