Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
D1-Knowledge and understanding:
The student must demonstrate basic knowledge about the structure of cell, tissues and organs of the plants
D2-Applying knowledge and understanding:
The student must demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the concepts that allow recognition among the various plant groups with reference to plants food interest
D3-Making judgements:
The student should be able to identify and evaluate the membership of a plant food to a certain botanical group af plants
D4-Communication:
The student mus demonstrate that he is able to illustrate and discuss strategies and arguments to distinguish between plant groups with particular reference to those of food interest
D5-Lifelong learning skills:
The student must be able to use specific scientific texts for the profession or research

Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment
- Teaching
Front lessons (Italian) with PC and video-projector (Power Point).
- Course books
Claudio Longo, Giovanna Marziani, Biologia delle piante, UTET
Pasqua- Botanica generale e biodiversità vegetale- PICCIN
E. Maugini, L. Maleci Bini, M. mariotti Lippi Manuale di Botanica Farmaceutica
- Assessment
Oral examination with 3 questions. The oral examination is evaluated with a score in thirtieths.
The aim of the oral exam is to verify the student preparation regarding plant biology. The questions will concern respectively a cytology topic, a topic of histology (tissues and organs) and a topic of plant physiology among those reported on the program and treated in class. If the number of students enrolled in the exam exceeds 10 units, the exam will be written and the student will have to answer in two hours to three open questions as above. The written test is evaluated in thirtieths.
After passing the eventual written test, no further oral examination is required.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
