This course is entirely taught in Italian. Study materials can be provided in the foreign language and the final exam can be taken in the foreign language.

Learning Objectives

The course aims at providing the students with the knowledge and understanding of the most important changes that occurred from the 1st century b.c. to the half of the following century.

Program

  • Roman provincial administration in the Ist Century B.C.;
  • The "crimen repetundarum" and the procedure of trials;
  • Interpretation of Cicero's Actio.

Bridging Courses

Those students who have no basic knowledge of the roman world are requested to study by themeselves the handbook. Once every two weeks, the Professor will meet them and explain the paramount concepts and facts they did not understand.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Students are expected to understand not only the institutional changes, but also to evaluate the written and verbal propaganda of the "parties".

Assessment

At the beginning od the course, a written test will take place in order to assess the basic knowledge of the students. During the third week, another written test is scheduled in order to assess the progresses. The final examination will be an oral exam. 

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
