Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide the first rudiments of logic and philosophy of science. It is expected that in the end the student is able to formalize the simplest forms of declarative language and are able to evaluate simple scientific inferences .

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Knowledge and understanding: it is expected that the candidate knows the basics of propositional calculus, predicate calculus  and probabilities, as well as having the ability to understand simple logical or mathematical proofs.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

To take the exam as attending students it is advisable to attend at least two thirds of the lessons

Assessment

The assessment will be oral, with a minimum of 4 questions. ISimple exercises will be proposed  during and before the interview.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
