Learning Objectives
The course aims the objectives of the knowledge of the structures, purposes, contents and processes of the sport and physicaf activity in a sociological perspective. The most important theoretical models of the discipline and the issues concerning the relationship between body and health, sport and wellness, will be objects of study. Sport and physical activity will be addressed not only as motor and competitive practices but as functional activities in the pursuit of socio-psychological and physical well-being, according to a model imprinted on the concepts of wellness and health. The well-being in this sense is linked strategically to a conception of the body that is transformed into a cultural sense to become the engine of relationships for individuals and the place of construction of the social self. We will present theoretical and empirical analyzes following a concept of wellness that blends knowledge and action-oriented best practices (well-doing) as part of the quality of life.
