Learning Objectives
Written texts play a major role in business communication. An enterprise communicates efficiently if the responsible employers are able to write texts like product handbooks, press statement, instructions for work procedures or self presentation texts in a way that the target group will be adressed correctly. This is even more important for the web pages of the enterprise. The texts published in internet gather a great numer of different txts and text-types and form together something like the business card of the organization. In this context it is extremly important to communicate in an appropriate way. Therefore enterprises need a high textual and linguistic competence.
The course will examinate selected examples and will try to describe the nature of these competences, how they can be explained and trained and which are the characeteristics of a good text. During the semester the course will develop a catalogue of criteria that can be applied to evaluate critically the web pages of enterprises.
