Learning Objectives
The classic in the contemporary 1. The course of History of Philosophy, for students of Psychology, in this academic year aims to address in the first part the central theme of the relationship between "anthropology, philosophy and political psychology" through the analysis of Niccolò Machiavelli's work in the light of the contemporary debate on his thought and in the second part will deal with the main themes of Max Weber's philosophical, political and sociological thought, analytically and critically understood in the twentieth century and beyond the twentieth century (1920-2020).

- Philosophy, anthropology, history and political psychology. Through Machiavelli.
- The crisis in the modern: religion, ethics and politics.
- Life, conflict and power. From Machiavelli to Machiavelli.
- The philosopher and the art of conflict. Machiavelli among us.
- Max Weber: a contemporary classic of ours.
- Weber a century later. Between philosophy, politics and social science.
- Weber: subjectivity, images of the world and forms of politics.
- Weber and the hermeneutics of the meaning of social action.
- Weber yesterday and today. Beyond modern disenchantment.

With regards to the discipline, the student has to show the possession of:
- the mastery of basic knowledge;
- the understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline;
- the capacity of using skills and concepts according to the logic of the discipline

Supporting Activities
During the course, in the second semester, interdisciplinary integrative seminars will be held by the professor who holds the prof. Antonio De Simone and the experts on the subject Davide D'Alessandro, Luciano Massi and Alessandra Peluso. A conference-seminar on the subject "Max Weber a century later. Between philosophy, politics and social science" with the participation of Italian and foreign scholars is scheduled for the period March-April 2020.

Participation in lessons is not mandatory but strongly recommended recommended for the development of learning logic and methodologies
