Learning Objectives
Ability to relate the peripheral reality of the Marche with the Roman figurative debate, in particular through the influence of Caravaggio.

Survey on the presence in the Marché region of writers and artists who referred to the figure and works of Caravaggio, also considering the artist's passage to Tolentino and Loreto. The sources report in Ascoli Piceno the existence of one of his paintings, known through copies. Relief is given to the presence in the Marche (from Fabriano to Ancona) of Orazio Gentileschi, one of the most significant Caravaggio. Caravaggio study relationship with the Marche, as well as how the role played with artists from the Marche, such as Giovan Francesco Guerrieri, and the activity of a qualified Caravaggio artists such as Orazio Gentileschi, who in the Marche (b ra Ancona and Fabriano) executed frescoes and paintings that had an influence on local artists.
