This course is entirely taught in Italian. Study materials can be provided in the foreign language and the final exam can be taken in the foreign language.

Learning Objectives

The course is dedicated to an analysis of the different areas and dimensions of business communications, the stakeholders involved, the processes activated, the required skills and a particular focus on Institutional Communication (public affairs, lobbying, crisis communication and corporate social responsabilty).

A significant space will also be devoted to Investor Relations and Organizational Communication.

The themes of identity, reputation and culture will be addressed from a corporate perspective.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

The students must achieve:

1. knowledge and ability of understanding, developing ability of critical elaboration in relationship to the role and the different aspects of corporate communication.

1.1 the students achieve such foundational knowledge through the attendance to the lessons and the analytical study of the scientific texts proposed by the teacher, discussed in the classroom

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: through the ability to delineate themes of research, analysis of the sources, detailed study from the theoretical point of view.

2.1. Discussions in the classroom, possibility of continuous comparison with the teacher in the classroom

3. Ability of judgment: critical reflection on the role and the different aspects of corporate communication through the continuous interaction with the teacher, in the classroom, and through e-mail, as well as the interaction with the colleagues.

4. Communicative ability: the students must actively interact during the lessons, asking questions and answering to the different solicitations.

5. Ability of learning: the students must develop ability of autonomous judgment, learning to discuss and to deduce the themes of the course with the other students and with the teacher.

Assessment

he exam will be held through an individual interview based on textbooks suggested. The aim is to evaluate both student's comprehension of the content and his ability in reworking concepts and in argumenting. 

Excellent grades will be given in presence of: a good critical perspective and in depth study; knowing how to link among them the main subjects addressed during the course; the use of an appropriate language.

Good grades will be given in presence of:  good mnemonic knowledge of the contents; a relatively good critical perspective and connection skills related to the treated topics; the use of appropriate language.

Sufficient grades will be given in presence of: the achievement of a minimal knowledge on the treated themes, even in presence of some gaps; the use of a not appropriate language.

Negative grades will be given in presence of: a difficult orientation related to the the treated topics; knowledge gaps; the use of a not appropriate language.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
