Learning Objectives

the course includes 80 hours yearly and his main objective is to make the students acquire and achieve the A2 level of linguistic competence (CEFR) by developing communication habilities (comprehension and oral production), related to the Arabic language in addition to reading and writing skills.)

At the end of this course the students should be able to:

pronounce the sounds of the Arabic alphabet (discrimination of sounds, reproduction, accentuation of individual words and phrases, intonation and rhythms); read short texts and dialogues; know the graphic system to understand, write and produce simple and short texts; understand basic oral documents; interact directly according to the indications of the (CEFR) for the indicate level.

Authentic paper and audiovisual documents will be used: songs, video clips, cartoons, functional documents (Identity card, boarding pass, menu, etc., games and online learning sites will be consulted.

Program

- Greeting: greetings, pleasantries and courtesy formulas.

- Introduce yourself: (personal pronouns, Arabic proper names, gender, professions, marital status)

- presenting and describing your family and acquaintances (family members, relationships, age) 

- the home: the different types of home, the rooms of the house, furniture and furnishing, place in the space, adverbs and places names, spatial locutions, cardinal points. 

- description of the physical aspect (human body, physical characteristics, colours and shapes)

- Islam: landmarks

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the language assistant in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the language assistant specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
