Learning Objectives
The course is a supplement to Doctor Raspa Fütterer’s German C1 Lin-OC course. The weekly lesson focuses on literature. Each term a book by a German author will be read in the original language. The topics dealt with in the books are related to Doctor Raspa Fütterer’s handbook.
Program
First term:
During the first term students will read “Trümmerkind” by Mechthild Borrmann. This thriller, based on historical events, tells the story of two German families in the years after the Second World War. Through the reading students will enrich their vocabulary and by working on authentic texts they will deepen their knowledge of the German language.
Second term:
Students will read the book “Russendisko” by Wladimir Kaminer in which the author describes his impressions of Germany where he moved to after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
