Learning Objectives

The course proposes him to furnish the theoretical bases to the students related to the problem of the education of the man. Particular attention will be given to the evolutionary-anthropological aspects and their relapses in sociological terms, as well as to the analysis of the relationship individual / society as it shapes him in the processes of primary socialization.

Program

1. The human species as species highly vulnerability: the man as a prey - Two forms of culture: the culture produces the man, the culture as product of the man - The ambivalence of the man between creative opening and protective closing; 2. The necessity for the man to give him a social form - The appearance  of the symbolic and the birth of the community as compensatory and protective factors - The individual / society relationship as a screen to the original vulnerability - The processes of primary socialization and the education to the value-orientations, the classical authors of the sociology: E.Durkheim, G.Simmel, M.Weber, G.H.Mead, T.Parsons; 3. The child / mother  relationship as center where he hides reproducing her the original vulnerability: T.Parsons and the primary socialization - It is possible to face and 'to tame' the original vulnerability? The hypotheses of the Attachment Theory - The relationship between cargiver and infant as a regulation - Against the education: A.Miller and the witness that helps.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

The students must achieve:

1. knowledge and ability of understanding, developing ability of critical elaboration in relationship to the anthropological and social-cultural changes that the evolution of the society show with the passage from the traditional social forms to those modern and of the advanced modernity.

1.1 the students achieve such knowledges of base: through the attendance to the lessons and the analytical study of the scientific texts proposed by the teacher, discussed in the classroom and in the comparison through exchange of e-mail.

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: through the ability to delineate themes of research, analysis of the sources, detailed study from the theoretical point of view.

2.1. Discussions in the classroom, possibility of continuous comparison with the teacher in the classroom, through e-mail, study of the texts.

3. Ability of judgment: critical reflection on the anthropological and social-cultural changes and ability of comparison among the different scientific-disciplinary approaches through the continuous interaction with the teacher, in the classroom, and through e-mail, as well as the interaction with the colleagues.

4. Communicative ability: the students must actively interact during the lessons, through e-mail to the teacher, asking questions and answering to the different solicitations.

5. Ability of learning: the students must develop ability of autonomous judgment, learning to discuss and to deduce the themes of the course with the other students and with the teacher.

Frontal lesson and weekly interaction teacher-students through e-mail and Blended Learning.

Attendance

Attendance to at least three quarters of the hours of lesson and study of the didactic material of reference.

Assessment

The exam will be held through an individual interview based on textbooks suggested. The aim is to evaluate both student's comprehension of the content and his ability in reworking concepts and in argumenting. It is possibile to present a written document on a topic agreed with the teacher. 

Excellent grades will be given in presence of: a good critical perspective and in depth study; knowing how to link among them the main subjects addressed during the course; the use of an appropriate language.

Good grades will be given in presence of:  good mnemonic knowledge of the contents; a relatively good critical perspective and connection skills related to the treated topics; the use of appropriate language.

Sufficient grades will be given in presence of: the achievement of a minimal knowledge on the treated themes, even in presence of some gaps; the use of a not appropriate language.

Negative grades will be given in presence of: a difficult orientation related to the the treated topics; knowledge gaps; the use of a not appropriate language.

Disabilità e DSA

Le studentesse e gli studenti che hanno registrato la certificazione di disabilità o la certificazione di DSA presso l'Ufficio Inclusione e diritto allo studio, possono chiedere di utilizzare le mappe concettuali (per parole chiave) durante la prova di esame.

A tal fine, è necessario inviare le mappe, due settimane prima dell’appello di esame, alla o al docente del corso, che ne verificherà la coerenza con le indicazioni delle linee guida di ateneo e potrà chiederne la modifica.
