Learning Objectives
The course proposes him to furnish the historical-theoretical bases to the students related to the history of the assistance, to the principles and the inspiring values of the social job, as well as to their concrete realization in the fundamental professional attitudes. Particular attention will be given to the contributions that the principal social sciences (particularly the sociology, the anthropology and the evolutionary psychology) can offer as for today so much to the theory the practice of the social job.
Program
1. The concept of human nature as opening and potentiality - The human nature as base of the protection and the social support ; 2. The traditional societies and the protection as closing - Advent of the modern society and crisis of the traditional protection: the foreigner's figure; 3. The human nature and the condition of the newborn - Attachment Theory and the child / mother relationship; 4. The infant and the maternal cares - Accidents of run: the forgery itself and his/her understanding as I support essential for the process of help; 5. A historical picture: origins give some assistance to the first laws on the poor men (1500 -1600) - from the Enlightenment to the great Revolutions: the last laws on the poor men - You birth of the social safety - The welfare been and the system of the services; 6. The principles and the inspiring values of the social job: the history - The concepts of liberty, equality, dignity and solidarity - You history of the concept of solidarity - The principles as base of the professional attitudes.
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
The students must achieve:
1. knowledges and ability of understanding: developing ability of critical elaboration in relationship to the anthropological, historical and social-cultural changes underlined by the history of the social security in the passage from the traditional society to the modern society and the post-modern society.
1.1. The students achieve such knowledges of base: through the attendance to the lessons and the analytical study of the scientific texts proposed by the teacher and discussed in the classroom.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: through the ability to delineate themes of research, analysis of the sources, detailed study from the theoretical from the theoretical point of view.
2.1. discussions in the classroom, comparison with the teacher, study of the texts.
3. Ability of judgment: critical reflection on the anthropological, historical and social-cultural changes and ability of comparison among different scientific-disciplinary approaches through the interaction in the classroom with the teacher and the colleagues.
4. Communicative ability: the students must actively interact during the lessons, to make questions, answer to the solicitations.
5. Ability of learning: the students must develop ability of autonomous judgment, learning to discuss and to deduce the themes of the course with the other students and with the teacher.

Frontal lesson and weekly interaction teacher-students through e-mail and Blended Learning.
- Attendance
Attendance to at least three quarters of the hours of lesson and study of the didactic material of reference.

During the course will be given indication to the students about the possible selective preparation of examination's texts.
- Assessment
The exam will be held through an individual interview based on textbooks suggested. The aim is to evaluate both student's comprehension of the content and his ability in reworking concepts and in argumenting. It is possibile to present a written document on a topic agreed with the teacher. Excellent grades will be given in presence of: a good critical perspective and in depth study; knowing how to link among them the main subjects addressed during the course; the use of an appropriate language.Good grades will be given in presence of: good mnemonic knowledge of the contents; a relatively good critical perspective and connection skills related to the treated topics; the use of appropriate language.Sufficient grades will be given in presence of: the achievement of a minimal knowledge on the treated themes, even in presence of some gaps; the use of a not appropriate language.Negative grades will be given in presence of: a difficult orientation related to the the treated topics; knowledge gaps; the use of a not appropriate language.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.

The student can request to sit the final exam in French with an alternative bibliography.
