Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide students with the theoretical and methodological elements necessary for: - Basic knowledge of general education; - Understanding of the fundamental concepts of general pedagogy; - Ability to use knowledge and concepts to reason according to the logic of general pedagogy.
Program
The theoretical foundations of pedagogy. The "objects" of pedagogy. The methodology of educational research. The operational dimensions of pedagogy. Educational planning. Educational guidelines: objectives and methods. The system of training places. The age of education.

Knowledge and understanding (knowledge and understanding): At the end of the course the student: - will have acquired the basic knowledge of the main lines of the epistemological debate in the field of general pedagogy with particular reference to its constitutive elements (problems and methods) and to the relationships with the other sciences of education; - will demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental concepts of general pedagogy envisaged by the course. Applied knowledge and understanding (applying knowledge and understanding): At the end of the course the student must: - show an understanding of the theoretical and methodological approaches of pedagogy; - recognize the operational dimensions of pedagogy and its educational directions; - demonstrate the ability to use knowledge and concepts to reason according to the logic of general pedagogy. Making judgments: At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate the aptitude to: - recognize themes and problems of general pedagogy in the scholastic and extra-curricular field; - critically evaluate the adequacy of pedagogical choices regarding specific educational problems; - identify the most appropriate pedagogical strategies for solving specific educational problems; - interpreting problematic situations by formulating hypotheses of pedagogical intervention. Communication skills (communication skills): At the end of the course the student must have acquired: - the ability to clearly express the course contents explaining their meaning; - the ability to communicate through the use of a specific disciplinary language; - the ability to argue on themes and problems characteristic of general pedagogy. Learning skills (learning skills): At the end of the course the student will show the possession of the ability to use knowledge and concepts that allow to reason according to the specific logic of the discipline. The student must be able, in particular, to: - use knowledge and concepts for the design activity; - identify design methodologies appropriate to the contexts; - analyze some educational situations along predefined directions; - simulate the design of educational interventions; - to outline some hypotheses of pedagogical planning around specific problems.

Open test writing (short essay) as it seeks to establish the ability to use knowledge and concepts that allow reasoning according to the specific logic of the discipline, to identify and know how to use the appropriate theoretical and methodological approaches of the discipline, to predict ultimately hypothesis of pedagogical planning on specific problems.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
