Learning Objectives
The aim is to provide an overview of the ethical and legal aspects of human experimentation, also focusing on the freedom of scientific research
Program
1. Freedom of scientific research: absolute ethics and utilitarian ethics
2. Ethics and deontology of scientific research
3. Elements of bioethics: lay bioethics and Catholic bioethics
4. The Italian and European legislation on human experimentation

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
D1 - Knowledge and understanding. The student will have to learn the fundamental principles of the approaches to scientific research ethics and bioethics.
D2 - Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. The student should be able to use the principles learned to evaluate the ethical aspects of the trials.
D3 - Autonomy of judgment. The student should be able to focus attention on bioethical principles to evaluate the ethical feasibility of an experiment.
D4 - Communication skills. The student must be able to describe the principles and concepts learned during the course expressing themselves clearly, with appropriate terms and with appropriate examples.
D5 - Learning skills. The student must be able to construct his / her scientific growth path in a critical and autonomous way, being able to correctly use the study material provided by the teacher and the in-depth material that he himself can obtain.
