Learning Objectives
The learning objectives required for this course are as follows:
The development of the language skills in Arabic as required from the QCER to reach the levels A1/A2. The course starts with the alphabet and reaches the basic skills in grammar, communication, and translation. The students should be able to understand basic information, whether written or oral, about normal situations such as the description of the family, the house, the city, and the geography of the Arabic world.
Furthermore, the students should learn some socio-cultural differences between different Arabic countries.
By the end of the year, the student’s glossary will be rich and so will be the grammar rules.
Program
The program starts with the alphabet. A lot of time is dedicated to this part of the language. Afterwards, the program goes on with all the four skills required from the QCER. This will be done through listening/ videos given by various sites and texts given by the teacher throughout the year.
At the end of the year, the students will have to go through a final exam in the four skills required: listening, reading, composition and speaking.
