Learning Objectives
Understanding
• At the end of the course, the students can understand the essential points of a written or oral discourse expressed in standard language on familiar topics (the city, everyday problems, the environment, work, studies, etc.).
Production
• Can produce simple texts related to these topics, such as narrating an event or experience, giving their opinion or advice.
• Can express themselves clearly and in detail about their interests. Can develop a point of view on a familiar topic and explain the advantages and disadvantages of a given situation.
Program
• By means of topics proposed in the L'atelier B1 handbook, language and cultural competences will be stimulated following a communicative approach. Press articles, advertisements, photos, radio, and television programs will serve as the basis for written and oral comprehension exercises, from which grammatical points and vocabulary corresponding to the B1 level will be identified.
• Special attention will be paid to oral expression. Students will be regularly asked to express themselves – in the form of a story, an advice, or an opinion – on one of the topics covered in class.
• Finally, work will be done on examination methodology by means of written and oral exercises.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the language assistant in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the language assistant specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it
