Learning Objectives
The course aims to introduce students to Chinese business contexts, both written and oral, and to their linguistic, social and culturalcharacteristics.
Program
Students will study texts dealing with economical and commercial issues, such as business letters and e-mails, articles from newspapers, official documents issued by the government of the PRC, promotional texts. They will work on reading comprehension, translation, analysis, and will focus on style, grammar and vocabulary, but also on intercultural elements that have to be taken into account in order to establish a fruitful dialogue with China.
Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)
Knowledge and understanding: students will will acquire a good understanding of Chinese business language and culture.
Applying knowledge and understanding: students will apply their knowledge and understanding in reading comprehension and oral and written production.
Making judgements: students will develop hypotheses and make autonomous judgments in using their knowledge contextually, understanding the meaning of the texts and evaluating their own production.
Communication skills: students will be able to communicate in business contexts and express their knowledge clearly.
Learning skills: students will acquire the tools and methodologies to deepen their knowledge of the field with a high degree of autonomy.

Supporting Activities
The course includes lessons held by a mother tongue lecturer, with a focus on listening, comprehension, oral and written production.
